On September 25, 2025, the 4th "Green Point China· Sustainable Practice Case" Award Ceremony, hosted by China Business News, was grandly held in Shanghai. Deli Group stood out from 341 applied cases with its "Carbon-Neutral Stationery Series" project and won the "2025 Green Point China Sustainable Practice Annual Case" award. With the theme of "New Trails in the Green Wilderness", this year's selection adopted a process combining multi-dimensional screening and in-person interviews, and finally selected 33 sustainable benchmark cases with demonstration value. Deli Group's award-winning achievement not only demonstrates its breakthrough in green product innovation, but also lies in its creation of China's first closed-loop model that applies carbon credits from construction waste to consumer goods manufacturing, providing a replicable new paradigm for cross-industry collaborative carbon reduction in the manufacturing sector.

Circular Economy Builds a "Green Bridge" for Carbon-Neutral Stationery

As a cultural and creative technology industry group with business covering more than 140 countries and regions around the world, Deli has been continuously promoting its strategic transformation from "manufacturing products" to "creating sustainable value" in recent years. In 2024, the group elevated the carbon-neutral stationery project to the core of its ESG strategy and built a green path covering the entire product life cycle – from minimalist design to reduce material consumption, to large-scale use of post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR) to replace virgin materials; from increasing the proportion of green electricity use to innovatively introducing a carbon offset mechanism, so as to achieve true "zero-carbon office".

The most significant breakthrough of Deli's carbon-neutral stationery project is the establishment of a collaborative chain connecting the three industries of stationery manufacturing, waste plastic recycling and construction solid waste resource utilization. In response to the residual carbon emissions that cannot be completely eliminated under current technical conditions, Deli purchases carbon credits from construction waste resource utilization projects for offset. For every 1 ton of carbon emission reduction achieved in products, 2.8 tons of construction waste are driven to be converted into recycled aggregates or environmentally friendly building materials. This model is not only China's first practice of applying the results of construction waste carbon trading to consumer goods production, but also builds a circular economy bridge between the manufacturing industry and urban solid waste management.

To ensure transparency and credibility, each piece of carbon-neutral stationery is equipped with a unique QR code. By scanning the code, consumers can view the full life cycle carbon footprint report and carbon neutrality statement certified by the international authoritative organization SGS, making the green commitment "visible and verifiable".

At present, Deli's carbon-neutral series has covered six high-frequency office product categories, including rollerball pens, correction tapes, rulers, ruler sets, dot glues and loose-leaf notebooks, with a cumulative mass production of over 1.1 million pieces. Through the comprehensive application of reduction design, recycled material replacement, green electricity use and carbon offset, the entire series has reduced plastic usage by approximately 14 tons (equivalent to 600,000 480ml plastic bottle bodies) and reduced carbon emissions by about 300 tons. Behind these figures is the gentle care for the earth's resources embodied in a pen and a notebook.

Providing New Ideas for the Green Transformation of the Manufacturing Industry

Against the backdrop of the accelerated implementation of the "dual carbon" goals (carbon peaking and carbon neutrality), carbon reduction in a single industry can hardly meet the needs of systematic transformation. By integrating cross-industry resources, Deli has verified the feasibility of the linkage between "consumer-end products, industrial solid waste and carbon market", providing a practical sample for more manufacturing enterprises to explore the path of collaborative carbon reduction. This model not only has technical feasibility, but also demonstrates significant environmental and social benefits, and is expected to be replicated and promoted in multiple consumer goods fields such as daily chemicals, packaging and home furnishing.

Looking forward to the future, Deli will continue to deepen green innovation, expand its carbon-neutral product portfolio, optimize the technical solutions for recycled materials, and actively explore more cross-industry carbon collaboration scenarios, so as to contribute to the high-quality and sustainable development of China's manufacturing industry with practical actions.

A seemingly simple pen is writing the green future of Made in China. Deli believes that true sustainability is not far away, but lies in every choice made in daily life.
